155.59 Amendments <br /> 155.99 Penalty <br /> GENERAL PROVISIONS <br /> § 155.01 STATUTORY AUTHORIZATION. <br /> The legislature of the state has,in M.S. Chapter 103F and M.S. §462.357, as may be amended from <br /> time to time,delegated the responsibility to local government units to adopt regulations designed to minimize <br /> flood losses. Therefore,the City Council does ordain this chapter. <br /> Ord. #33-A, adopted 0411211989 <br /> § 155.02 FINDINGS OF FACT. <br /> (A)The flood hazard areas of the city are subject to periodic inundation which results in potential loss of <br /> life,loss of property,health and safety hazards, disruption of commerce and governmental services, <br /> extraordinary public expenditures for flood protection and relief and impairment of the tax base, all of <br /> which adversely affect the public health, safety and general welfare. <br /> (B)This chapter is based upon a reasonable method of analyzing flood hazards which is consistent with the <br /> standards established by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. <br /> Ord. #33-A, adopted 0411211989 <br /> § 155.03 STATEMENT OF PURPOSE. <br /> It is the purpose of this chapter to promote the public health,safety and general welfare and to minimize <br /> those losses described in § 155.02 by the provisions contained in this chapter. <br /> Ord. #33-A adopted 0411211989 <br /> § 155.04 DEFINITIONS. <br /> For the purpose of this chapter,the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates <br /> or requires a different meaning. <br /> 295 1 P a g e <br /> 61 <br />
