Introduction <br /> A.I. Situation <br /> On behalf'of the City of Centerville,Bonestroo,Inc.,requested a geotechnical evaluation for the <br /> proposed 2009 Street and Utility Improvements Project.We understand that the improvements will <br /> include both pavement reconstruction and utility installation Currently,the roads are paved with <br /> bituminous,and utility improvements will consist of water main installation <br /> A.2. Anticipated Subsurface Conditions <br /> _ Upon review of Regional Assessment Series,Assessment RHA-1,Plate 1,Surficial Geology(Minnesota <br /> s Department of Natural Resources, 1993),the area designated for the 2009 Street and Utility <br /> Improvements Project is underlain with glacial deposits associated with the Grantsburg Sublobe of the <br /> Keewatin ice source. We anticipate that portions of the glacial soils will be concealed with till materials <br /> similar in composition. <br /> A.3. Project Goals <br /> Our goals included characterizing subsurface soil and groundwater conditions in the areas of the <br /> proposed street reconstruction and utility installation,and developing recommendations for utility <br /> installation,subgrade preparation and pavement design. <br /> A.4. Scope of Services <br /> Based on our knowledge of the situation and the site and subsurface conditions,and our project goals,we <br /> developed a scope of services for this project and submitted it in the form of a proposal to Ms.Emily <br /> Maloney of Bonestroo,Inc Mr.Dallas Larson,City Administrator for the City of Centerville,provided <br /> written authorization to proceed. Our scope of services was performed under the"Agreement Between <br /> City of Centerville and Braun Intertec," <br /> A.A.a.
