tewdle
4_aaffidted w7
Centerville
Special Event Permit Application
Outrun Homelessness 5K, 8K & Kids Run/Walk
Submitted November 27,2015
LTITLE,PURPOSE,AND BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF EVENT:
General Background Information:
• This will be the second annual Outrun Homelessness event in Centerville. All running/
walking events are on the same day-October 1,2016. The course will be set up on
Thursday and Friday September 29th & 30th. This is the same course as the annual
Centerville Festival of the Lakes runs.
• This is a fund raising event for No One Left Hungry Foundation. Marsha Marcussen is
the founder and principle operating officer. She has established strategic relationship
with and works in cooperation with Stepping Stone Emergency Housing in Anoka and
Gospel Mission in St. Paul.
• This event in 2015 raised approximately$3000. The money was used to provide shoes
and warm clothing to the homeless and to support homeless shelters in St Paul and
Anoka.
• The event benefits the homeless in Minnesota. People in need from rural and suburban
areas tend to migrate to the larger cities. It is the intention of the event organizer to per-
sonally take the benefits to those in need where ever they are in our State. Thus the
statement of purpose is to benefit the homeless in Minnesota rather than Anoka or
Ramsey Counties.
• The race committee members are all volunteers. One hundred percent of the funds
raised, in excess of expenses, will go directly to benefit the homeless.
• We are requesting a waiver to all park fees and deposits.
New Application: This is a new application for 2016
CONTACT PERSON: Patrick Branch
58
