Centerville should consult the <br /> complete 2040 Regional Parks Policy Plan in preparing its local comprehensive plan. In addition, <br /> Centerville should consult Thrive MSP 2040 and the current version of the Metropolitan Council's II ocz=' <br /> Planning Handbook for specific information needed in its comprehensive plan. <br /> System Plan Considerations Affecting Your Community <br /> Regional Parks System Components in your community <br /> The following Regional Parks System Components within Centerville as identified in the 2040 Regional <br /> Parks Policy Plan are listed below. <br /> Regional Parks, Park Reserves, and Special Recreation Features <br /> Rice Creek Chain of Lakes Park Reserve: This is an existing park reserve with an established <br /> boundary. The park reserve boundary as shown in Figure 2 should be acknowledged in the <br /> comprehensive plan. <br /> Regional Trails <br /> Bunker Hills-Chain of Lakes Regional Trail: This is a regional trail that includes segments that are <br /> open to the public as well as planned segments that will be developed in the future. The regional trail <br /> travels through Blaine and Lino Lakes as it connects Bunker Hills Regional Park, Rice Creek North <br /> Regional Trail and Rice Creek Chain of Lakes Park Reserve. The regional trail alignment as shown in <br /> Figure 2 should be acknowledged in the comprehensive plan. <br /> Central Anoka Regional Trail: This is a regional trail that includes segments that are open to the <br /> public as well as planned segments that will be developed in the future. The regional trail travels <br /> thwuyii Ramsey, Andover, Ham Lake, Biaine, Lino Lakes, and Centerviiie as it connects Mississippi <br /> West Regional Park, Rum River Regional Trail, Bunker Hills Regional Park, East Anoka County <br /> Regional Trail and Rice Creek Chain of Lakes Park Reserve. The regional trail alignment as shown in <br /> Figure 2 should be acknowledged in the comprehensive plan. <br /> Chain of Lakes-Otter Lake Regional Trail Search Corridor: The regional trail search corridor travels <br /> through Centerville and Lino Lakes as it connects Rice Creek Chain of Lakes Park Reserve and Bald <br /> Eagle-Otter Lake Regional Park in White Bear Township. A master plan identifying the alignment of the <br /> Chain of Lakes-Otter Lake Regional Trail has been approved since adoption of the 2040 Regional <br /> Parks Policy Plan. The alignment of the regional trail should be acknowledged in the local <br /> comprehensive plan. Anoka County will lead a planning process in the future to determine the <br /> alignment of the regional trail. When preparing its comprehensive Alan, Centerville should verify <br /> whether a master plan has been approved by the Metropolitan Council.
