SCANNING TRAINING & <br />TOM THUMB PROCEDURES <br />AGE REQUIREMENT CERTIFICATION <br />POLICIES & PROCEDURES <br />CIGARETTES AND RELATED PRODUCTS <br /> <br />POLICY <br /> <br />The customer must be at least 18 years of age to purchase cigarettes and/or related <br />tobacco products (rolling papers, cigars, snuff, chewing tobacco, butane lighters, etc.). <br /> <br />Customers wishing to purchase cigarettes and/or related tobacco products must present <br />(upon request) a valid state driver's license or other form of valid picture <br />identification proving to be of the legal age requirement, at least 18 years of age. <br />Employees who fail to ID (scan) EVERY CUSTOMER for <br /> <br />tobacco sales will face termination of employment and criminal <br /> <br />prosecution with penalties of up to a $3~OOO fine and/or a year <br />in i ail. <br /> <br />PROCEDURES <br /> <br />1. ASK EVERY CUSTOMER FOR VALID STATE DRIVERS LICENSE OR A <br />VALID PICTURE IDENTIFICATION. <br />2. CHECK THE PICTURE ON ID TO MATCH CUSTOMER <br />3. GO TO THE IDLOGIX TERMINAL (PRESS IDLOGIX) <br />4. SWIPE ID CARD <br />5. READ INFORMATION ON DISPLAY. WHICH WILL DISPLAY THE <br />FOLLOWING <br />· ID: 123456D (IDENTIFICATION NUMBER ON ID CARD) <br />· DOB: 04-23-70 (DATE OF BIRTH) <br />· EXP: 04-23-05 (EXP DATE OF ID) <br />· NAME: NAME ON ID CARD <br />· VERIFY THAT AGE IS 18 OR ABOVE AND ID IS VALID <br /> <br />I will accept full responsibility for my actions as stated by the law if I sell cigarettes <br />and/or related tobacco products to a customer that is not of the legal age <br />requirement. <br /> <br />Employee Signature <br /> <br />Date <br /> <br />Trainer Signature <br /> <br />Date <br />
