<br />City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />January 8, 2003 <br /> <br />you can not lease something that does not exist, and the piece of property they are <br />proposing to develop does not exist. <br /> <br />Mr. V otel indicated he appreciated the opportunity to come back before the Council and <br />stated they were talking to the developer every day. Council Member Broussard-Vickers <br />stated ifthey signed the waiver, they wouldn't have to come back again. <br /> <br />Mr. Keller stated they were trying to encourage the developer to move forward, <br />indicating they are standing by with cash. He reiterated that if the timeline was pushed <br />too far it may not be as good of an investment for them. Mr. V otel asked what the <br />Council recommended. City Attorney Hoeft stated they could not recommend. He <br />reiterated that if the petitioners waived for an unspecified period of time, the request <br />would stand by tabled. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra stated her only issue was with the sign. She asked for <br />clarification of the size and lighting, Mr. V otel indicated they had that question from the <br />Planning Commission as well. It would go out mid-evening, when the facility closed. <br />He stated it would be light sensitive so it would only be glowing during the darker hours <br />of operation. <br /> <br />.J,..' <br /> <br />'1..,. <br /> <br />Mayor Sweeney asked if it conformed to the Cityoi,cti ,ance: ~i,;Jr:Ke:ller indicated it did. <br /> <br /> <br />{:,', I';'~"" <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Broussard Vickers. seconded by Council Member <br />Capra. to continue the public hearing until the next City Council meeting. All in <br />favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />VIII. UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> <br />There was none. <br /> <br />IX. NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />8. Slaughter House/Butcher Shop - Mr. Noo Yang <br /> <br />Mr. So Yang indicated he was present to represent his brother, Mr. Noo Yang. He stated <br />Mr. Noo Yang could not be present as he is currently serving in the Army. He stated his <br />brother desired to move forward with his request. <br /> <br />Mayor Sweeney stated he has the information from the packet but is not aware of what <br />discussions have taken place. <br /> <br />City Attorney Hoeft stated that prior Council had taken no action, and had asked him to <br />research what options the City had. He first looked at zoning for the property. He found <br />that there'is no zone within Centerville that accommodates this request. This doesn't <br />mean that they are precluded, just that there is currently no zone.
