Corporal Mike Jensen Centennial Lakes Police Department 200 Civic Heights Circle Circle Pines, MN 55014 (763) 784-2501 Chief Heckman, monthly activity report for December 2002, 01-04- 2003 This report addresses areas I oversee within the department on a day-to-day basis. 1) Vehicle Maintenance, all squads had general maintenance. We had a busy month with squad problems. CL-4 was involved in a car deer accident and was repaired at Midway Ford, CL-5 went to Polar Chevrolet for warranty work and CL-6 went to Midway Ford for engine work. We were short squads the later part of the month. 2) Reserve unit. All is running normal, our thanks to all reserves for their hard work. The reserves put hours in during December riding with officers, on patrol Fridays and Saturday evenings. When they are out on patrol they check businesses and do residential patrol. In December, the reserves put in 53 hours. December 11 th we had another reserve meeting in which 'we continued review type training for squad use and radio use by the reserves. We also conducted an interview with a new applicant. The reserves have also read the department manual. We have a new application for the unit and Chief Heckman will be speaking with the commission in January. I thank them for all the fine work that they have done for the communities. My thanks to the reserve unit for all the hard work they do for the Cities. ~. 3) Safety committee, I'm working on procedure for officers to follow for the cleaning up biohazard spills. I have finished a draft and now Investigator Blanck will review said draft. h'1vestigator Blanck is still in the review process and will be done shortly. 4) Emergency/First Aid Equipment, I had to order replacement stock for the first aid equipment and this should bring us in to the New Year. . 5) Safe and Sober. We were advised by Safe and Sober that the Centennial Lakes Police Department ranked number 11 out of all the departments in the State of Minnesota that were involved in the November seat belt challenge. My thanks to all the officers that put 100% in to this project. Just a note, over 350 departments were involved in the November challenge.
