City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />July 27, 2016 <br />Discussion ensued regarding body cameras, recent state law regarding data storage, insurance <br />ramifications and the proposed increase of approximately $65,823 for Centerville in 2017. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Love, seconded by Council Member Paar to Approve the <br />Centennial Lakes Police Department 2017 Budget at presented. <br /> <br />Council Member King questioned future expenditures and Council Member Fehrenbacher stated <br />vehicle replacement, data storage for the body cameras and paying off the building. <br /> <br />All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />th <br /> <br />4.Discussion on Mattamy Homes Development Along 20 Avenue North <br /> <br />Administrator Ericson stated that the proposed 866 housing units proposed by Mattamy Homes <br />has been approved by the City of Lino Lakes and it will impact on the City of Centerville. <br /> <br />th <br /> <br />5.Discussion on Distribution Center on 20 Avenue South – United Properties <br /> <br />Discussed earlier. <br /> <br />IX. COUNCIL & ADMINISTRATION ANNOUNCEMENT <br /> <br /> <br />1.Administrator Ericson <br /> <br /> <br />a.Planning & Zoning Commission Discussion/Recommendation for Temporary <br />Family Health Care Dwellings – Administrator Ericson stated that a <br />recommendation would be forwarded to the Council for their August meeting <br />regarding this item. Attorney Glaser gave a brief description of the law, stating <br />that it is a well-intended law, written and executed poorly; however, the City has <br />the ability to opt out of allowing a specific type of temporary transitional housing. <br />He explained that the intention was for seniors but the statute does not include age <br />restrictions and addresses anyone certified with needing assistance with two or <br />more “instrumental activities of daily live” for mental or physical reasons may <br />reside in these swellings on the property of the “caregiver” or “relative” resides. <br />Attorney Glaser stated that it is best to opt out at this time as the City can impose <br />standards on its own if needed. <br /> <br />Administrator Ericson stated that most Cities are opting out. <br /> <br /> <br />b.Administrator Ericson stated that he has been approached by the White Bear Lake <br />Chamber of Commerce Chair to serve on the Chamber Board. He inquired if the <br />Council would be supportive as he would be honored to accept. Administrator <br />Ericson stated that it would involve attending one meeting a month. <br />Administrator Ericson stated that he felt that it would be an avenue to share local <br />Page 6 of 7 <br /> <br /> <br />
