City of Centerville <br />Planning and Zoning Commission <br />June 7, 2016 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Montain, seconded by Commissioner Koski to close the public <br />hearing at 6:41 p.m. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />No members of the audience spoke. <br /> <br />IV. OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. City Code, Chapter 116: Tobacco Regulations; Sales (Hookahs, Sale of <br />Paraphernalia, Sampling, Vaping & Etc.) <br /> <br />The Commission continued discussions regarding hookahs, hookah bar/lounges, sale of <br />paraphernalia, sampling, vaping and other associated activities that potentially could take place in <br />tobacco establishments. Several members of the Commission and Staff made site visits to <br />tobacco shops in other communities to gain an idea for merchandise that is offered to the public in <br />these shops. The Commission requested additional information from staff prior to making any <br />recommendations for Code modifications. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Koski, seconded by Commissioner Montain to table this item to <br />the next regularly scheduled meeting of the Commission. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />V. NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br /> <br />1.Preliminary/Final Plat – School Parking Lot Modification/Enlargement, ISD #12 <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Montain, seconded by Commissioner Koski to Recommend to <br />Council Approval of ISD #12 Preliminary/Final Plat Subject to Recording of Four (4) <br />Easements (Storm Sewer, Hammerhead Parking, Water & Sewer). All in favor. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br /> <br />2.Fete des Lacs Committee Report <br /> <br />Administrator Ericson gave a brief report of items discussed at the monthly meeting in May and <br />again invited members to participate. <br /> <br /> <br />3.2016 City Council Focus Goals <br /> <br />Administrator Ericson stated that the Commission should review these goals from time-to-time as <br />a guide of what the Commission is working on in 2016. <br /> <br /> <br />4.Mr. Mark Bilotta, 7198 Shad Avenue – Possibility of Variance Request <br /> <br />Mr. Bilotta introduced himself to the Commission and inquired about the possibility of receiving a <br />variance for the construction of an addition to the existing home.
