City Council 04-05-2006 <br />Summary of Work Session <br /> <br />Present were Mayor Mary Capra, Council members Michelle Lakso, Richard Terway, <br />Jeff Paar and Tom Lee. Also present was Dallas Larson and Rhonda Sivarajah. <br /> <br /> <br />1.The Council discussed the status of the CSAH 14 project and the downtown <br />streetscape improvements that would be part of the project. The City engineer is <br />working on the plan sheets that would be included in the county bid documents. <br />st <br />Dallas reviewed the status of the 21 Avenue-Backage Road project as it related to <br />CSAH 14. <br /> <br />2.County Commissioner Sivarajah discussed the status of the city’s application for <br />Community Development Block Grant funds to assist with the downtown <br />redevelopment. Board Chair Margaret Langfeld has used her authority to make <br />sure the city will not be included in the grant awards. All of the funds that were <br />recommended by staff to be awarded to Centerville are being reallocated to other <br />communities. The Council requested that Commissioner Sivarajah make a <br />statement at the next County Board meeting to bring to light the clearly punitive <br />action that has been initiated by Langfeld and participated in by other Board <br />members. She will make a motion to restore the funding, although everyone agreed <br />it likely will do no good. <br /> <br />We finished up about 7:35 p.m. <br /> <br />Dallas Larson <br />City Administrator <br />
