I am <br />following up that conversation to give you formal notice that the City's Building Official, Paul Palzer, has <br />deemed that building a "hazardouC structure. This means the site needs to be made safe in order to <br />protect public safety. Making this property safe also helps you of liability should someone hurt <br />themselves inside that building. We understand that you are close to a potential redevelopment of the <br />site - including removal of the building. However, Mr. Paizer was sufficiently concerned with the <br />immediate dangers presented by the dilapidated state of that structure that he feels parts of it could <br />collapse at any time. It is necessary to take immediate action to prevent collapse of the building, and to <br />seal off access to the structure. This letter not only gives you notice of the hazardous nature of the <br />structure, but it also begins a legal process whereby the City could remediate dangers or remove that <br />building should Its condition continue to cause a safety risk. <br />"Hazardoue is defined In statute as any building or property, which because of inadequate <br />hazard or a hazard to public safety or health. Paul deems this building a hazardous structure for the <br />following reasons.
