COUNTY OF ANOKA <br />CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />RES. #16-038 <br />RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THOMAS D. WILHARBER FOR HIS 38 YEARS OF DEDICATED <br />PUBLIC SERVICE TO THE CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />WHEREAS, Thomas D. Wilharber was appointed to the Planning & Zoning Commission on February 27, 1973 <br />and served until December 4, 1990; and <br />WHEREAS, Thomas D. Wilharber was again appointed to the Planning & Zoning Commission on May 23, <br />2001 and served until December 7, 2004; and <br />WHEREAS, on June 26, 1991 Thomas D. Wilharber was appointed to City Council following the resignation <br />of Mayor George Haberman and the submittal of a letter of interest; and <br />WHEREAS, in 1991 Thomas D. Wilharber filed for office as a Council Member seat and was successful; and <br />WHEREAS, on March 8, 1995 Thomas D. Wilharber was appointed as Mayor of the City Council following <br />the resignation of Mayor Sandee Heineman; and <br />WHEREAS, in 1995 Thomas D. Wilharber filed for office for the Mayoral seat and was successful; and <br />WHEREAS, Thomas D. Wilharber continued to file for the office of Mayor and was successful through 1999; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, in 2010 Thomas D. Wilharber again filed for office of Mayor and was successful through 2016; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Thomas D. Wilharber, CW5 (Chief Warrant Officer Five) served his country throughout his entire <br />career and retired from the Minnesota Army National Guard. He was inducted into the Court of Honor in 2010. <br />(In order to be selected for the Court of Honor a member must be nominated. The applicant must have <br />significantly contributed during their career, and after retirement, to make an impact on the Minnesota National <br />Guard or in their community); and <br />WHEREAS, Thomas D. Wilharber has served on many Councils, Committees/Commissions and Community <br />Organizations (Centerville Lions & St. Genevieve's Catholic Church) throughout his 38 years of service with <br />the City of Centerville; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Centerville City Council officially recognizes <br />Thomas D. Wilharber for his meritorious service to the community and publicly thanks him for his 38 years of <br />dedicated public service to the City of Centerville; and <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City of Centerville this 14th day of Pecember, 2016. <br />Acting, Mayor Elect, Jeff Paar <br />Attest: <br />City Clerk, Teresa Bender <br />
