City of Centerville <br />Parks & Recreation Committee <br />March 1, 2017 <br />Motion by Committee Member Bettinaer. seconded by Committee Member <br />Peterson to Approve the Minutes of February 1. 2017 as amended. All in favor. <br />Motion carried. <br />V. UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />1. GAGA Pit — Review Bids Received for Heavy Duty Steel Corner Braces <br />(Tabled) <br />Committee Members discussed that alternative options may be more economically <br />feasible. <br />2. 2017 City Focus Goals <br />City Administrator Ericson noted that Council approved the Goals and they will be <br />utilized by Staff and Committee/Commission(s). <br />VI. NEW BUSINESS <br />1. Race Director Report, Ms. Kerri Kolstad, Wahoo! Adventures <br />Ms. Kolstad reported that the website would soon be updated, new race routes have been <br />determined for 2017 which will allow for a more organized start/finish area (Hidden <br />Spring Park) and be more spectator -friendly. She shared additional information from the <br />Festival Committee meeting which was attended by herself, Committee Members <br />Bettinger and Peterson. <br />2. Special Event Permit Application — Paddle de Fete — Pat Branch <br />Mr. Pat Branch has proposed a new event for the 2017 Fete des Lacs Festival and it will <br />be a kayak and paddle board race with the proceeds going to "No One Left Hungry". <br />Motion by Committee Member Bettinner, seconded by Committee Member <br />Amundsen to Recommend to Council the Approval of the Special Event Permit <br />Application — Paddle de Fete as presented. All in favor. Motion carried. <br />VII. UPDATES/OTHER <br />1. Council Updates — Council Member Matt Montain <br />Council Member Montain updated the Committee on a number of items. He inquired about <br />the budget and how it is tracked. Discussion ensued regarding the amount of snow received <br />for the past few years and unseasonable warm temperatures. Council Member Montain <br />mentioned that he owns a Sno Gun which makes snow; however it needed an air compressor <br />to function. <br />2. Replacement of Audio Equipment <br />Page 2of3 <br />
