Project Introduction <br />The City Administrator of Centerville desires to have a cohesive, high -performing team with <br />an outstanding reputation. He would like to review the operating environment and ensure <br />the organization is doing all it can to serve the community at a high level. <br />Background <br />There are several projects in the City that are beginning to take shape. The activity requires <br />that everyone in the organization work together well and with excellent communication. <br />Desired Outcomes <br />1. Clearly identified communication expectations <br />2. Span of control and relationship expectations with vendors and contractors <br />3. Clearly identified operating philosophy <br />4. Values statements) that captures the organizational approach to service <br />S. Definition of what a high performing team looks like <br />Process Steps <br />Meeting/Review of City Administrator: A review and check-in of the City Administrator <br />[June, 2017] with the Mayor and Council. This meeting of 60-90 minutes is intended to <br />review expectations, performance, and align future objectives for the Administrator. The <br />meeting will also clarify roles, responsibilities, and lines of communication. <br />Operations workshop with staff and consulting staff: Following the review of the City <br />Administrator, a workshop with staff will be conducted to formalize organization <br />expectations. The workshop will be designed to get input from the entire team on operating <br />philosophy, organization values, and customer service delivery. The questions the <br />workshop will answer include: <br />• "What does a High Performing Team look like in Centerville?" <br />• "How will we know we are doing a good job?" <br />• "What values will the organization live by?" <br />The workshop will also examine what actions/behaviors might prevent or disrupt <br />performance as described. <br />Facilitation Methods <br />Two methods of facilitation will be used during the process. Both process methods are <br />described below. <br />1. The Technolofy of Partidpation (TOP®) is a constellation of life understandings and <br />group facilitation methods for transformation at personal, leadership, organizational <br />and community levels. it is based on natural thinking processes and has been evolving <br />since the late 1950s, extensively tested and refined in community and organizational <br />settings around the world. Originally known as 'ICA Methods' it has been honed since <br />the mid 1980's into an effective group of tools and processes for working with <br />organizations and communities known as ToP.
