City of Centerville <br /> Council Meeting Minutes <br /> September 13,2017 <br /> economic development; business acumen; employee engagement; familiarity with municipal <br /> law/local codes; Economic Development experience; well-seasoned in local government <br /> experience; pride in work and community; energetic; knowledge of job requirements and proven <br /> capability to create a positive work environment. <br /> Council Member Love suggested that the Personnel Committee with the assistance of the City <br /> Attorney and Interim Administrator identify three most qualified candidates for interview by the <br /> Council. Attorney and Interim Administrator will prequalify the applications to those that are <br /> clearly qualified and then forward those to the Personnel Committee. Council agreed that this <br /> process will be followed. <br /> Timelines will be: <br /> October 6, 2017. Deadline to apply <br /> October 15, 2017, candidates for interview will be notified of interview. <br /> October 27, Candidate interviews with Council <br /> 4. APPROVE PAY EQUITY REPORT <br /> Administrator Larson reported that the City was required to submit a Pay Equity Report to the <br /> State of Minnesota in January of 2017, but that was not done, leaving the city out of compliance <br /> with the law. Larson indicated that he has prepared the report and needs Council approval to <br /> submit it to the State Pay Equity Coordinator. A copy of the proposed report was provided for <br /> Council review. <br /> Motion by Council member Montain, seconded by Council member Love to approve the <br /> Pay Eguity Report as presented. All in favor. Motion Carried. <br /> X. COUNCIL/LEGAL/INTERIM ADMINISTRATOR ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> Interim Administrator Larson reported that the City is advertising for temporary office worker to <br /> assist with the additional load on staff caused by the building permit load resulting from the <br /> storm damage. Larson requested authorization to use a temp job service, should the City be <br /> unsuccessful in finding a qualified candidate for the temporary position. Prior action set a <br /> maximum amount per hour of$14, which may not be sufficient if the worker is supplied through <br /> a temp service. The position would be continued as long as needed not to exceed December 31, <br /> 2017. <br /> Page 4 of 6 <br />
