i Rice Creek Chain of Lakes Park Reserve <br /> Rice Creek Chain of Lakes Park Reserve is <br /> a highly used regional facility in Anoka <br /> County and as such,the County will <br /> continue to manage it as regional <br /> recreational open space. Since the park <br /> has over 5,000 acres,the size allows the <br /> county to provide many different .'K <br /> activities for visitors. Visitors can utilize <br /> picnicking facilities to gather with family Y ` <br /> and friends, use the trails for exercise or <br /> enjoyment of nature,allow children to <br /> release some energy on the various <br /> playgrounds in the park, enjoy the sun <br /> and water at Centerville Beach, perfect - <br /> their golf techniques at Chamonix Golf View of Peltier Lake <br /> Course,enjoy an evening with the family <br /> around a campfire at Rice Creek Campground and learn about the area and its environment at Wargo Nature <br /> Center. In the winter months,visitors can use the plowed and multi-use trails within the park reserve, cross <br /> country ski at the golf course and snowshoe or kick-sled at Wargo Nature Center. <br /> A!L Expenses generated from the park reserve are <br /> related to the maintenance and operations of <br /> ' the park and amenities. Chamonix Golf Course <br /> is budgeted separately from park operations; <br /> F the only course-related items included within <br /> the park budget is the operations and <br /> _ maintenance of the cross-country ski trails that <br /> 4 are groomed within the golf course. Park <br /> y <br /> - expenses are partially offset through revenues <br /> ' F generated through daily and annual vehicle <br /> passes, rental fees and special use permit fees <br /> in the parks general operating budget. The <br /> Cross Co un try Skiing remaining funds used to offset operations and <br /> maintenance are provided by the Metropolitan <br /> Council's 0&M grant program,the Lottery in Lieu of program and the local tax levy. <br />
