<br />Centerville today. <br /> <br />Centerville continues to be a rapidly growing community. In 1993, the City celebrated its new City Hall and <br />Fire Station. Centerville is proactively managing this growth by carefully balancing the needs of developers <br />and businesses while also protecting the natural environment that attracts people to this are. The low crime <br />rate and excellent emergency response services give residents a feeling of security. Present day <br />Centerville is more than the people living near one another, Centerville is a community of friends and <br />neighbors. County Road 14 expansion (widening of main St.) as a part of the Lino Lakes, Centerville, Hugo <br />corridor <br />. Knowledge and experience with development and redevelopment issues <br />. County Road 21 expansion for the Racino Harness Racing planned facility <br /> <br />REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS <br /> <br />Centerville is a Plan A form of government with the City Administrator reporting to the five member City <br />Council consisting of the Mayor and four councilpersons at large. The new Council member elected to <br />replace the Mayor-Elect's seat served on the City's Planning and Zoning Commission. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED <br /> <br />The successful candidate should have the following experience and knowledge: <br /> <br />. A Bachelor's Degree is required and a Master's Degree is preferred. <br /> <br />. Three to five years of increasingly responsible managerial experience in local government as a City <br />Manager, Administrator, Assistant City Manager or Assistant Administrator. <br /> <br />. Working knowledge and first hand experience with state and local laws concerning land use, <br />planning, zoning, subdivision planning and lot splits. <br /> <br />. Working knowledge and first hand experience with city economic development and redevelopment. <br /> <br />. Experience with special assessment laws (such as TIF), and the financing of public improvements <br />as well as financing for new developments. <br /> <br />. Must have experience dealing with budgeting, long-range financial planning, municipal finance and <br />experience working with financial consultants. <br /> <br />. Must have experience in attracting, hiring, managing, retaining and developing staff. <br /> <br />.
