T1 <br />(Se<:ond Series) <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING mE CITY OF CIRCLE PINBS CITY CODE, BY <br />ADDINGSBCTION 270 CRlMINAL HISTORY CHECKS. <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Citcle Pines ordains: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. The City Council of Circle Pines hereby adds Section 270, <br />to read as follows: <br /> <br />SECTXON 270 AUTHORIZING quMINAL mSTORY CHECKS <br /> <br />270.01. . Applicants for Employment with the Cit)' sba11 be subject to a Criminal History <br />Check. <br /> <br />270.02. Criminal History Checks shall be performed by a Records Specialist at the . <br />. direction of the P~1ice Chief or His or her designee.. . <br /> <br />270.03. An Applicant for employment shall be advised of the need for a criminal <br />historY check and the rights of the Applicant for Employment under law, if and, with <br />respect to such checks. A copy of such rights sball be executed by the Applicant for <br />Employment and forwarded to the Records Specialist with tJ;u, requ,est for a Criminal <br />H'lStoIy Cheek. <br /> <br />270.04. The City will not disqualify an Applicant for Employment solely or In part <br />because of Ii prior conviction of a crlme. ~ch is not directly relat~ to the position of <br />employment, the.City shall consider: <br /> <br />A. The natUre ana seriousness of the crime for which the Applicant for <br />~ploym~ was convicted; <br /> <br />B. The relationship of the crime'to the purpose ofregulating employment with <br />~C~; . <br /> <br />C. The relationship oCme crime to the ability. capacity.
