These easements are intended to protect floodplain and otormvvater storage areas
from alterations that may interfere with storage and/or flow of surface vvater, particularly during
flood conditions. They also serve as formal notice to the property owners and future property
owners that the land within the easements may beinundated atany future date.
Maintenance ofotormvvaterfacilities will be coordinated with the RCVVD. CurrenUy, inspections
are performed inthe spring and fall, with maintenance done ao needed. Maintenance ofthe
current system will continue to be a priority for the City. As new development 000uro, developers
will "turn over" these new otornnvvaterfaoi|ideo to the City Public Works Departnnent, including
trunk and lateral storm oevvene, catch basins, otormvvater BMPo, and ponds and outlet
structures. With such a relatively new storm sewer system, there are currently few maintenance
tasks other than street sweeping, which is done a minimum of twice per year. However, the City
plans to formulate a Maintenance Plan Budget within five years.
City staff will inspect ponds in accordance with the requirements of the NPIDES MS4 Permit.
The City not only will inopeot, but also will dredge public pondo, which is defined as any pond
that takes drainage from the City's storm sewer
Potential capital improvement projects are described in Chapter 8, Capital Improvements Plan.
These projects ohou|daidinaddreooingmaintenanoeoonoernovvithintheirreopeotiveareao.
0.21
