Centerville 2040
A framework of transportation improvements needed to support the
redevelopment of the area and to create appropriate levels of parking
as well as vehicular, bicycle and pedestrian access to the downtown.
A set of design standards to guide the architectural quality of new
development within the downtown area.
The master plan was also coordinated with the plans for the redesign and
expansion of County State Aid Highway 14 (Main Street). The master plan
integrated efforts to calm traffic, provide a safe pedestrian environment and
provide guidelines for buildings that respected the pedestrian scale and
encouraged walkability. Since the Downtown Master Plan encompassed such
a large portion of Centerville, its principles and guidelines were utilized
extensively in the City's 2030 Comprehensive Plan update. Figure 2 shows the
downtown master plan that was developed.
The Domll?towrr Master Plan? was obvelopeo'at the helq/V of the ecol?ol-nyjust
before the economic obwi?turi) /ir 2007 Its obveloplrel?t will be a future
priority for the City ano'17uy require upoatil?g of the obmll?towr7 plan to reflect
currel?t lr)a4et realities.
FIGURE 2 —DOWNTOWN MASTER PLAN—FUTURE PRIORITY
to so so
*a to Do
be
% got 'boom
U11111-17111
Chapter 1I Page 10
62
