City of Centerville <br /> Council Meeting Minutes <br /> February 14,2018 <br /> Council Member Montain stated that the Parks & Recreation Committee discussed the January <br /> 20 skating/sledding evening along with planning the February 10 party. <br /> Mayor Paar stated that the Centerville Lions were requesting volunteers to assist in drilling holes <br /> for their ice fishing contest scheduled for February 17, 2018 and that volunteers should report to <br /> Kelly's Korner at 6:00 a.m. for a free breakfast prior to drilling. He also stated that attendance <br /> was lower than usual at the January 20 skating/sledding event due to lower temperatures, the <br /> beginning of the Olympics and the St. Paul Winter Carnival. He commended the Committee for <br /> their work. He reported that he would be attending a legislative breakfast at the Centennial <br /> School District High School where Representative Runbeck and Senator Chamberlain had been <br /> invited to provide an update on school funding. He stated that the high school seniors would be <br /> participating in a volunteer day by providing services in their communities and that if the City <br /> desired their services for park cleaning or other areas to provide that information to the school as <br /> soon as possible. <br /> Mayor Paar stated that the previous week a child that attends Apple Academy had choked on a <br /> meatball and owner Mrs. Kari LeTourneau had provided the Heimlich maneuver saving the <br /> child's life. He stated that Fox9 News had recently completed a news segment on the item and <br /> he desired to thank Mrs. LeTourneau for her heroism, training and quick action. <br /> Recess to Closed Exec. Session 8:25 p.m. <br /> XI. CLOSED EXECUTIVE SESSION <br /> (Meeting minutes will become available once negotiations have been completed and an <br /> agreement is ratified). <br /> Mayor Paar closed the Closed Executive Session at 9:06 p.m. and reopened the Regularly <br /> Scheduled Council Meeting, reporting that discussion was had regarding the renewal of the <br /> Local 49er's Union Contract. <br /> XII. ADDITIONAL OLD BUSINESS <br /> 1. Local 49er Union Contract <br /> Action was taken on the Union Contract in Closed Session. <br /> 2. Pay Plan & Matrix for 2018— See Above <br /> Action was taken on the Pay Matrix/Pay Plan during the Closed Session. <br /> XIII. ADJOURNMENT <br /> Page 6 of 7 <br />
