lDona;: 4lD~

Submitted by Father Tom rltZgeroId
PastDr ofSt Genevieve's Church in CenterviIIe

!j am writing these words at the begin-
ning of the month of ApriL This
month's name comes from a Latin
word which means "to open." It is a well-named
month since we all see nature beginning to open
up all around us. It is also the month when we
start coming out of our homes and apartments
and start moving around our neighborhoods once again. In our Jewish-Christian
heritage, it is also the time of year when we celebrate Passover and Holy week.
which celebrate freedom and new life.
Like nature, human beings can also go through periods of winter, where rela-
tionships within families, among friends and neighbors and within communities can
become tense and cold. This is one reason why the emphasis in religious commu-
nities this time Of year is on forgiveness and reconciliation. It's a good time to
make that phone call, write that note or knock on that door to let people know
that they are appreciated in spite of the difficulties we may have with them, or they
with us. It is a good way to live in the month of April-a month of openness to
new possibilities. As one of the prayers for this time states, "This is the day the
Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad."

4

*******
I I
*******

Services in qoon Rapids
Saturday, May 26,2001

10:00 am.
Momingside Memorial Ganlens
11800 University Ave. NW

11:30 am.
Bunker Hills Park,
Foley Blvd. & Highway 242

..

Anoka CountY
1)"aveler

Reservation Line 763-323-5222
Generalln(ormation 763-422-7075
~ ""

iii!

...

~

Sw.lil/(.mty yow.tk 'PYOgYQVlilS
~bl:1.
WQygo NQtw.ye celllkey

All programs will be scheduled on the
following Tuesdays at from I to 3 p.rn.
For additional information and regis-
tration, please stop into City Hall.

The Third Annual Anoka County
Senior Expo is scheduled for Friday,
May II, from Noon to 4 p.rn. at the
Church of St. Stephen, 525 Jackson St.,
Anolca.
