<br /> <br />~terville Committee Repo~ <br /> <br />Public Works <br />Ordinance #50 requires property <br />owners to provide for removal of <br />snow, ice, dirt, and rubbish from side- <br />walks adjacent to their property within <br />24 hours after its deposit. Abr this <br />period of time, Public Works staff may <br />remove the remaining accumulation <br />billing the resident for the cost of re- <br />moval. For complete details of this <br />ordinance ~ any other City Ordi- <br />nance, please Stop in at City Hall. <br /> <br />Parks and Recreation <br />~ Centerville's Parks and <br />Recreation Committee will <br />be submitting a grant appli- <br />cation to the Minnesota <br />Department of Natural Re- <br />sources. If approved, the "Outdoor <br />Recreation Grant" will be used for im- <br />provements at Laurie LaMotte Park. <br />The skate park and running elec- <br />tricity at laurie LaMotte Park are top <br />priority agenda items with the Parks <br />and Recreation Committee. <br />The Parks and Recreation Com- <br />mittee will be partidpating in deanlng <br />Tracie McBrIde Park and Royal Mead- <br />ows Park during the moming of Earth <br />Day, Saturday, April 21. They will be <br />serving refreshments and cookies for <br />those volunteering that moming. Any- <br />one Is encouraged to help with this <br />effort on that day! <br />City Coundl has approved the <br />Parks and Recreation Committee's rec- <br />ommendation to become a seven <br />member committee. Interested resi- <br />dents may submit their letter of inter- <br />est to City Hall. <br /> <br />EDC <br />EDC meetings are scheduled at <br />6:30 pm. on the 3rd Tuesday of every <br />month at City Hall. Meetings are open <br />to the public. There is currently one <br />vacancy on EDC. Residents may submit <br />their letter of interest to City Hall. <br /> <br />\ <br /> <br />City Review <br />The City Council has voted to change Council meetings from 6:00 pm to 6:30 <br />pm beginning in March. The agenda may be picked up at City Hall on the Monday <br />prior to the meeting. Meetings are open to the public and are broadcast live on <br />North Metro Cable Channel 16. <br />The Quad City Earth Day Committee has been meeting for the past few <br />months In preparation for Earth Day 200 I scheduled for Saturday, AprIl 21. Clean <br />up efforts will occur throughout Centervllle, with events occurrlng at Wargo NaM <br />ture Center from II a.m. - 2 p.m. Watch for a schedule of events In future Issues <br />of the Le Journal. <br />Coundl has approved the orpnlzation of a Communications Task Force. <br />Centervllle resident and former City Coundlwoman, Theresa Brenner will act as <br />Chair. The Task Force will review all current communication methods, assess <br />needs, research options, and develop a communications plan. Interested residents <br />skilled In computers, journalism, media communications, graphic arts, marked... <br />and management are encouraged to attend upcoming meetings. Please contact <br />City Hall for additional information or to sign up to be a member of this shortM <br />term project. <br /> <br />I YMCA Chain of LaIces I <br /> <br />The YMCA will be offering Day <br />Camps at laurie LaMotte Park this sum- <br />mer in Centerville for 6 - 10 year old <br />children. Before and after camp care <br />will be available if necessary. Family pro- <br />grams will be scheduled throughout the <br />summer also. Camp brochures are avail- <br />able at City Hall. <br /> <br />Planning and Zoning <br /> <br />AI LaMotte has resigned from the <br />Planning and Zoning Commission. AI <br />has served on the committee for sev- <br />eral years. The vacancy is being <br />posted. <br /> <br />Planning and Zoning meetings are <br />scheduled on the first Tuesday of <br />every month at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall. <br />The public is invited to attend. <br /> <br />Centerville Communications Task Force <br />The Communications Task Force, chaired by former Centerville Council- <br />woman, Theresa Brenner held their first meeting on Thursday, March 29 at City <br />Hall. The City Coundl approved the following members to the committee: Craig <br />Bode, Tom Fairbrother, Loren Abrahamson and Andrea Witzel. The next meeting <br />is scheduled for Monday, April 16 at 6:30 p.m. Meetings are open to the public. <br />Please come and share your thoughts and Ideas as to how to Improve City comM <br />munlcations with the public. <br /> <br /> <br />The Fete des Lacs Committee Is busy with preparations for the upcomM <br />Ing Festival. They are currently working on this year's <br />budget. Watch for further postIngs as to how you too, <br />can be involved in Fete des Lacs. The Festival is scheduled <br />for August 2-5, 200 I. <br />FDL meetings are scheduled for the third Monday of <br />each month at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall and are open to the <br />public. <br /> <br />
