<br /> <br />The Centennial Women Of Today Is ~ <br />a local community service organization <br />and Is looking for active, community <br />minded women to join their organiza- <br />tI~n. The United States Women Of To- <br />day is a non-profit organization that was <br />established In 1985 and currently is pre- <br />sent In 17 states with over 4,000 mem- <br />bers across the nation. The Minnesota <br />Women Of Today evolved from the <br />Mrs. Jaycees and in 1985 voted to form <br />the Women Of Today and has the larg- <br />est membership of any state. Minnesota <br />has 123 chapters and over 2,000 mem- <br />bers. <br />The Centennial Chapter was estab- <br />lished In 1997 and has 14 members. <br />They want to increase their membership <br />by allowing more partidpatlon within <br />the community. <br />There are several reasons to join <br />Centennial Women Of Today: <br />eMeet New Friends - get to know <br />other women in your community <br />through fun soda! events such as pro- <br />gressive dinners, golf outings, craft <br />nights and cross-country skiing. <br />eGet Involved - work with a women 's <br />shelter, a nursing home, dean up the <br />neighborhood environment or raise <br />money for a needy family. You might <br />have seen Centennial Women Of To- <br />day in the Orde-Lex Co-op Daze pa- <br />rade or Sandburr Days last year. They <br />also support foundations such as the <br />March of Dimes, Kidney Disease or <br />Domestic Violence Network. <br />elmprove & Grow - participate In semi- <br />nars such as stress management, finan- <br />cial planning or Internet use. , Learn <br />self-defense. Be part of a team on pro- <br />jects. Sharpen your written and oral <br />skills by contributing to their newslet- <br />ter or presenting at one of the meet- <br />ings. <br />Please join The Centennial Women <br />Of Today. Meetings are scheduled for <br />the first Tuesday of every month at 7:00 <br />p.m. Our meetings are In the Anoka <br />County Ubrary on Civic: Heights Drive <br />In Circle Pines. They have a <br />monthly schedule full of activities that Indude: bowling, fitness, line dandng, ce- <br />ramics, cribbage, Tai Chi, weight lifting, c:ards, and wood carving.
