The Centennial Women Of Today Is ~ a local community service organization and Is looking for active, community minded women to join their organiza- tI~n. The United States Women Of To- day is a non-profit organization that was established In 1985 and currently is pre- sent In 17 states with over 4,000 mem- bers across the nation. The Minnesota Women Of Today evolved from the Mrs. Jaycees and in 1985 voted to form the Women Of Today and has the larg- est membership of any state. Minnesota has 123 chapters and over 2,000 mem- bers. The Centennial Chapter was estab- lished In 1997 and has 14 members. They want to increase their membership by allowing more partidpatlon within the community. There are several reasons to join Centennial Women Of Today: eMeet New Friends - get to know other women in your community through fun soda! events such as pro- gressive dinners, golf outings, craft nights and cross-country skiing. eGet Involved - work with a women 's shelter, a nursing home, dean up the neighborhood environment or raise money for a needy family. You might have seen Centennial Women Of To- day in the Orde-Lex Co-op Daze pa- rade or Sandburr Days last year. They also support foundations such as the March of Dimes, Kidney Disease or Domestic Violence Network. elmprove & Grow - participate In semi- nars such as stress management, finan- cial planning or Internet use. , Learn self-defense. Be part of a team on pro- jects. Sharpen your written and oral skills by contributing to their newslet- ter or presenting at one of the meet- ings. Please join The Centennial Women Of Today. Meetings are scheduled for the first Tuesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. Our meetings are In the Anoka County Ubrary on Civic: Heights Drive In Circle Pines. The Uno Lake Senior Center, located at 1189 Main 'Street In Uno Lakes, along County Road 14 Is bustling with activity for area residents. They have a monthly schedule full of activities that Indude: bowling, fitness, line dandng, ce- ramics, cribbage, Tai Chi, weight lifting, c:ards, and wood carving.
