They are most well known for their. trademark style of arnuagemeilts which feature colorful ribbons, curls and glitter. CenterviIIe RoraI offers delivery s8nIce and TeIe- flora and AFS to .aIIow flowers to be .sent almost II1)where In the world. following . the 1999 Fete des Lacs Parade, CherJI was approached by CenteniIIe resident and VoIkswagon BUI enthusiast, David Kapaun. wonderUlI where her "flower power bug ~ was. Sacco had never con- $idered designinc a float for the pa- rade. WIth the help of Kapaun. the two collaborated their Ideas and tal- ents and desIped an ent.ry for the Fete des Lacs Parade 2000. The "float"' was a 1973 VoIIcswagon Bug that was refurbished back to its orI&i- naI factory state. V W Bug owner"s Glen and Kathy Smith of WisconsIn, Were deIipted that Mr. Kapaun had asked.them In March.2000 to use their V W in the CenteniIIe parade IncI if he could have it opel ationaI by July 29th. At that time. the ..But" was in several pieces and in need. of paintJng and many hours of assembly. During the four months.prior to the parade. many hours were devoted to deIIeIbp- Ing a cIet:aIIed plan that Included aD aspects of preparing for the parade: I. GettIng the car operational. 2. Sip- . and stickers for the outside of the car. 3. Silk or real flowers; colors and ribbons could be used. 4. Who would ride in the car. what: they would wear. Cheryl. apprehensive about the idea becoming a reality, actually had thrown away the Parade 2000 entry form. Kapaun had arranged for Plan A and Plan B and .-.ssured her that CenterviIIe RoraI would be repre- sented in' the Parade and an entry form was formally submitted in t1meI On the morning of the parade at 9:00. the designated llne-up time, the car had not arrived. the .Idds were restless and the stress IMI was rising rapidly. Back-up Plan B was almost put into play when the car ~ show up at ,..21. The SmIth's encoumered an unexpec:tecI detour coming in from WisconsIn. Kapaun quIcIcIy designated dudes to everyone to put the finishing touches on the car which happened within a few minutes. The Idds were situated in the car and were sent off with hugs and thumbs up before taIdnc off to their designated place In the line up. CherJI was pleased with the resuits of CenterviIIe FIoraI's parade entry and very thankful for all the people who contributed to the "Flower Power Bug Float"! She saw first-hancl how Fete des Lacs brought the.
