City of Centerville <br /> Council Meeting Minutes <br /> May 9,2018 <br /> the state bid which is less expensive than the existing administrative offices. He also stated that <br /> the new machine would have the capabilities of printing, copying and scanning of up to 11" x <br /> 17" and color options. He reported that the new machine would have an annual cost of <br /> approximately $33.13/month with per copy fees of approximately $27.60/month ($728.76/yr.) <br /> for a lease. <br /> Motion by Council Member Montain, seconded by Council Member King to Authorize a 60 <br /> Month Lease Agreement with Loffler for a Cannon Copier for the Public Works <br /> Department. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> 3. Display Case(s) <br /> Administrator Statz stated that it was brought to Staff s attention that MN State Surplus had <br /> several display cases in their possession for sale and upon completing research Staff would like <br /> to have the ability to purchase them at a cost of$175 if they were deemed useful in storing items <br /> from the Dupre Collection. <br /> Motion by Council Member Paar, seconded by Council Member King to Authorize the <br /> Purchase of Display Cases in an Amount Not to Exceed $175. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> X. COUNCIL/ADMINISTRATOR ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> Administrator Statz provided Council with his report and stated that he recently attended a <br /> conference and learned about human resources (personnel policies, sexual harassment, etc.). He <br /> stated that he felt the conference was extremely worthwhile and provide networking <br /> opportunities also. He stated that he and Public Works Director Palzer interviewed five (5) <br /> qualified candidates for the position of Public Services Technician and anticipated a <br /> recommendation at Council's next meeting. He gave a brief update of the work being completed <br /> at Trailside Park with the shoreline restoration and stated that Ruffridge Johnson broke ground so <br /> construction should commence shortly. He stated that the utility bills contained information <br /> regarding the Fete des Lacs website, Consumer Confidence Report and the City's ISO rating. <br /> Attorney Glaser stated that Law Day was a week ago and a huge success with 450 individuals <br /> being assisted and not all individuals could be assisted due to the volume. <br /> Council Member Montain stated that he attended the recent Anoka County Fire Protection <br /> meeting were they set the budget, amended the Joint Powers Agreement with proxy voting being <br /> denied but the treasurers position may or may not be a member of a fire department and has the <br /> potential for being a third party or finance director of a member city were voted in favor or and <br /> will become effective in 2019. He reported that the Parks & Recreation Committee information <br /> was previously discussed. He did state that Fete des Lacs was only two (2) meetings away. <br /> Council Member Montain stated that he attended the Centennial Fire District yearly banquet and <br /> he was disheartened to see that attendance for Centerville was low. He stated that Lieutenant <br /> Weber, Station 3 received the Chief s Award of Excellence, Centennial Lakes Police Officer BJ <br /> Stephan received Instructor of the Year award, and Firefighter/EMT Bryce Wasiloski received <br /> Page 7 of 8 <br />
