Learn activities that <br />encourage adults and children to better enjoy and appreciate our natural <br />world. Pre-registration required. Please dress to be outside. Snack <br />provided. Fee: $3. <br /> <br />Popcorn and Primates <br />Saturday, October 16; 2 p.m. - Coon Rapids Dam <br />Sunday, October 17; 2 p.m. - Wargo Nature Center <br />Please join us as we spend an exciting afternoon in the tropical rainforests <br />of South America. Then we are off to the luscious jungles and forests of <br />Africa and Asia. Along the way we will meet many fascinating monkeys <br />and apes. We will do some fun primate activities, and learn about an <br />amazing and courageous chimpanzee researcher, Dr. Jane Goodall. Roots <br />and Shoots is a worldwide environmental club that will be starting up at <br />the Wargo Nature Center and Coon Rapids Dam for all ages very soon! <br />Popcorn and drinks will be served during the slide show. Fee: $2. <br /> <br />Everything You Ever Wanted to Know about White Tailed Deer <br />Saturday, October 23; 2 p.m. - Coon Rapids Dam <br />Some folks feed 'em and some folks eat 'em, but everyone is interested in <br />finding out more about these marvelous creatures. Deer are great <br />survivors, having just the right adaptations to live in Minnesota's extreme <br />climate and vanea habitats. Fee: $2. <br /> <br />Fallen leaves <br />Sunday, October '24; 2 p.m. - Wargo Nature Center <br />Enjoy a hike, then learn to identify trees by their leaf shape, and how the <br />dead fallen leaves help nature. Create a t-shirt or pillow case with leaf <br />prints. Please dress to be outside and bring something light-colored to print <br />on (such as a t-shirt or pillowcase, 100% works the best.) Pre-registration <br />required. Fee: $3. <br /> <br />Migration Full Moon <br />Sunday, October 24; 7 p.m. - Wargo Nature Center <br />As the seasons come and go and the moons ebb and wane, the critters a/so <br />are in transition. Join us in exploring the migration "eason. Find out who <br />migrates, why, and to what warmer sport" they go " Of course, it will be <br />a oeautiful fall full moon as well! Pre-registration required. Fee: $2. <br /> <br />Ghost and Goblins of the Forest <br />Sunday, October 31; 2 p.m. - Wargo Nature Center <br />Boo! The friendlr ghosts and goblins of the forest are eagerly awaiting our <br />visit. First we wil each make our own animal mask to wear and then out <br />to the forest we go! We will have fun-filled adventures as we form an <br />animal parade for your parents and our forest friends, play some games <br />and have a yummy snack. All Ages Welcome.
