Mailbox Snow Removal <br />city workers do make an effort to remove snow from in front of your <br />mailboxes. However, large snow faIls make it difficult, if not impossible, for City <br />plows to clear mailboxes well enough for 1ettef carriers to deliver mail. City <br />crews will continue to do the best they can, but residents are ultimately <br />responsible to keep mailboxes clear to ensure mail delivery. <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* Keep Fire Hydrants Free of Snow <br />Please help Centerville by keeping fire hydrants free from snow. The public <br />. works department appreciates your help in removing snow from around fire <br />hydrants located near your home. <br /> <br />* Sidewalk Snow Removal <br />Ordinance #49 requires all owners of property in the City of Centerville to <br />provide for the removal of snow, ice, dirt, debris, litter, branches and other <br />obstructions or accumulation of materials from all public sidewalks adjacent to <br />their property within 24 hours. <br /> <br />* City Snow Removal <br />The City Council has adopted a snow removal policy. Snow plowing <br />//-':perations will not generally be considered for a snowfall of less than 1 1/2 <br />- ,Jf!!ches."Snow Plow Routej" will be plowed first. These are high volume streets <br />which connect major sections of the City and provide access for emergency <br />services. <br /> <br />* Keep Snow Off Streets <br />A reminder: It is against the state law to deposit snow, slush or ice in the <br />street. It can cause hazardous driving and walking conditions for vehicular and <br />pedestrian traffic. <br /> <br />SaoWlllobUes Take Notel <br /> <br />The City of centerville has a snowmobile ordinance regulating the use of <br />snowmobiles within the City's limits. Here's a highlight of some of the regulations: <br /> <br />· Snowmobiles are prohibited on sidewalks, boulevards, school property and <br />public property including parks. <br />· Speed limits on the County and City streets are 10 miles per hour. <br />· Snowmobilers age. 14 to 16 must have a valid Snowmobile Safety Certificate <br />issued by the Commissioner of Natural Resources. <br />· A person may not operate a vehicle off-road within a public road right-of-way <br />between the hours of o~e-ha1f hour after sunset to one-half hour before sunrise, <br />~ except on the right-hand side of the right-of-way and in the same direction as <br />( -~ traffic. <br />\ .' <br /> <br /> <br />at, of CeRterville - Page 5 <br /> <br />Ice RInk .Bours <br /> <br />The Ice Rink Hours ~~ <br />weather permitting are: 1 ;r I <br /> <br />Moo. - Fri. 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm <br />Saturday 10:00 am to 6:00 pm <br />Sunday 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm <br />Vacation Days Hours will be posted <br /> <br />There is a pleasure rink: and hockey <br />rink: available.
