The City Council has adopted 'a snow remo~al policy. Snow plowing operations <br />will not generally be considered for a snowfall of less than. 1 1/2 inches. "Snow <br />Plow Routes" will be plowed first. These are high volume streets which connect <br />major sections of the City and provide access for emergency services. The "Snow <br />Plow Routes" are:: Mill Road, Peltier Lake Drive, Mound Trail,Peterson Trail, <br />Brian Drive and CenteiStreet-Secoridpriority streetS are thoSe streets proviiiing <br />access. to schools and commercial businesses. Third priority streets are low <br />volume residential streets. ~ourth priority are cul-de-sacs, short dead end streets <br />and City parking lots. <br /> <br />* Mailbox Snow Removal <br />Gity workers do make an effort to remove snow from in front of your mailboJtes. <br />However, large snow falls make it difficult, if not impossible, for City plows to <br />clear mailboJtes well enough for letter carriers to deliver'mail. The public <br />works department appreciates your help in removing snow from around fire <br />hydrants located near your home. <br /> <br />* Sidewalk Snow Removal <br />Ordinance #49 requires all owners of property in the City of Centerville to provide <br />for the removal of snow, ice, dirt, debris, litter, branches and other obstructions or <br />accumulation of materials from all public sidewalks adjacent to their property <br />within 24 hours. <br /> <br />Respite Program Needs Volunteers <br /> <br />More and more people today are caring fOl: elderly parents or <br />disabled spouses in their own home. They usually get little or no help from <br />others. If you have been in this situation you know what it is like. <br />Voluiiteersare urgently needed to provide respite care for.these caregivers. <br />All it takes is a willingness to spend 2-4 hours a week with someone who <br />cannot be left alone. ' <br />Anyone interested in helping a care giver is invited. It is a fun and <br />') rewatding way of giving to your community.
