Centerville 2040 <br /> Two important regional trails have been identified and mapped on the Parks <br /> and Trails Plan. The first is the Central Anoka County Regional Trail that runs <br /> east/west through the City along Main Street (County Road 14). This trail <br /> connects to the Rice Creek Chain of Lakes on the west and to the Hardwood <br /> Creek Regional Trail in Washington County. <br /> The second trail, Rice Creek Chain of Lakes-Bald Eagle Regional Trail connects <br /> to the Central Anoka County Trail through the regional park. It extends <br /> north/south on the western portion of the City along County Road 21 and <br /> County Road 14. <br /> The development of these two regional trails through the heart of Centerville is <br /> a great benefit to the residents to improve access to three significant regional <br /> parks and abundant recreation opportunities. <br /> The City has prepared a trails plan that identifies a system of bikeways, trails and <br /> sidewalks connecting City parks and major bicycle/pedestrian traffic generators. <br /> These include schools, the downtown area, and Rice Creek Chain of Lakes <br /> Regional Park Reserve. The bikeway/pedestrian system will include trails and <br /> sidewalks. <br /> All existing and proposed trails in the City are identified on the Parks and Trails <br /> Plan (Map 5-1). Proposed trails are listed below: <br /> • County Road 54 from the southern boundary of the City to Center Street. <br /> • CSAH 21 Centerville Rd between the southern City limit and Dupre Road. <br /> • Additional trails and sidewalks to be considered within new developments <br /> Proposed corridors in areas being platted will be dedicated to the City as part <br /> of the City's park dedication requirements. Implementation of the trails system <br /> will be included in the Capital Improvements Program of the City. <br /> Chapter S I Page 6 <br />
