The subject matter to be covered at this camp will be bike safety, fire safety, 911 procedure, water safety, personal safety, electrical safety, outdoor safety, and first-aid. The camp is set in an informative, but fun and exciting atmosphere. the camp fee includes lwlch, shirt, special giveaways and an awards ceremony at the end of the day. This program is intended for children who have fmished third grade in the 1996/97 school year. Contact the Lino Lakes Parks and Recreation Department at 780-1885 or Centennial Fire Department at 784-7472 or more ormation. Preregistration is required and limited to the fJrSt 100 participants. Priority will be given to residents residing in Lino Lakes, Circle Pines, Lexington and Centerville until June 27. After this date, any person who wishes to register may do so. O. BuIlding permits- Deckst Building pennits are requiredfor any deck that is atttached to a struc- tUre or any detached deck 30 inches :Ol'more above the grade. Please adhere to the following bulding regulations for decks. More information is available at City. HaIl. Frost Footings: Required for any deck that is attached to a dwelling or garage that has frost footings. G1UII'drails: All decks 30 inches or more above grade must be pro- tected by a guardrail. Guardrails shall guardrails and stair railings shall have intermediate rails or an ornamental pattern such that a 4-inch sphere cannot pass through. Handrails: Required for stair- ways and must be gripable. Flashing: All connections between deck and dwelling shall be weatherproof. Any cuts in exterior finish shall be flashed or caulked. Basement: The City Council approved a flat building pennit fee of $50 to fmish existing basements. Pennit applica- tions can be obtained at City HaIl. Permit AppDcatlon 1. Complete and sign the building pennit application form. 2. Submit a sketch of lot and dimensions indicating house and proposed deck location and size. - 3. Include a drawing of deck 4. After plan review, a permit will be issued indicating any modifications required by the building inspector. inspections Footings must be inspected before pouring-concrete. Final inspection is required after deck is completed.
