Every <br />day Meals on Wheels volunteers <br />deliver meals to homebound people. <br />many of whom would not be able to <br />stay in their own homes without this <br />service. If you want to make a <br />difference in someone's life, please <br />volunteer. If you would like to <br />advertise In the city wide newsletter <br />please call Trudl at City Hall: <br />429-3232. <br /> <br />ACCAP Senior <br />Programs <br /> <br />Senior Outreach Pro.gram .. <br /> <br />SenIor Outreach Workers link seniors <br />with needs to programs and services <br />designed to meet those needs. such <br />as home delivered meals. economic <br />or medical assistance, chore <br />services, or public health nursing. <br />This program Is county-wide and is <br />funded by public grants, service <br />clubs. churches and other donations. <br /> <br />The Senior OUtreach Program <br />welcomes referrals to senior or <br />disabled adults who need help. <br /> <br />Senior ('~on Program <br /> <br />AccAP and Lutheran Social Service <br />jointly administer the Senior <br />Companion Program. The Programs <br />I pnwIdes an opportunity for <br />individuals over sixty (60) who meet <br />income guideline to visit and serve <br />isolated or homebound seniors. <br />Some services provided include <br />, companionship, help with shopping <br />errands, and assisting clients in <br />I finding a community resource. This <br />Program is funded through a grand <br />from Medtronic Foundation and <br />through Federal funding. <br /> <br />Companions receive mileage and <br />meal reimbursement, and a stipend <br />to offset expenses.
