Residents
recycled 18 pounds per person per month - the second highest rate in the
county for 1994. Awards were given at the Annual Recognition September 6.
1995,at Majestic Oaks Golf Course in Ham Lake. During 1994, the city abated
220 tons of waste, landspread 100 tons of yard waste and collected 4 tons of
problem materials for proper waste management. Great job Centerville!

................................................

Treating lawns with chemicals and fertilizers can be potentially dangerous, if
not deadly to humans and animals. Instead, try using less toxic substances like
organic fertilizers. If you must treat your lawn at all with chemicals, use it sparingly
. and not so often. Notify neighbors with young children and pets. Animals will
often drink the run off of contaminated rain water. Always keep children and pets
well away from areas being sprayed or chemically treated.
