It is our goal to <br />complete the Star City program in 18 months. " <br />- Mission statement adopted May 17, 1993 <br /> <br />. ... The StarCity CoJiimiUee is cUlrefillyworldn~fon-pllase tw'i:fofthe certificaIion process:- <br />information gathering. The four phases that must be completed to achieve certification <br />are (1) organ17.ational, (2) information gathering, (3) planning, and (4) marketing. <br /> <br />We are working in four subcommittees to gather information. This information will be <br />analyzed dming the planning phase in the fan. Our activities include the following: <br /> <br />1) Community information - Collect information about demographics, housing <br />availability, environmental considerations, transportation, development sites, <br />utilities, education, and quality of life. <br /> <br />2) Business Retention and Expansion surveys - Visit and interview 30 business owners <br />in Centervi1le to collect information about their current operations, their plans to <br />expand, and their general ooncems. <br /> <br />3) Capital Improvement Plan - Request the City Council authorize preparation of a <br />capital improvement plan.
