CITY OF CENTERVILLE REQUEST <br /> FOR COMMITTEE ACTION <br /> o; <br /> Agenda Item# Department: Requested Meeting Date: <br /> Parks 8/1/2018 <br /> TITLE OF ISSUE: <br /> Long Term Capital Improvement Plan <br /> BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: <br /> Attached is a draft long term capital improvement plan for the city's parks and trails system. The plan only <br /> includes things which could be categorized as "capital improvements", representing items that enhance or <br /> expand the current parks and trails system. Replacement, maintenance and programmatic items are not on the <br /> list; these are funded through the general levy. Improvements listed make up all facilities planned when the city <br /> is fully developed. Park dedication fees are calculated by dividing the total cost of improvements by the number <br /> of expected new homes at full build-out and may only be used to build things on this list. <br /> Over the next few months, we will ask the Parks and Recreation Committee to review this list and <br /> recommend changes, additions, subtractions, or shifting of projects' expected implementation dates. Once fully <br /> vetted and adopted, we will want to revisit this document on a regular basis to keep it up to date. <br /> COST AND SOURCE(S) OF FUNDING: <br /> Park Dedication Fund- No immediate cost <br /> REQUESTED ACTION: <br /> Review and discuss the draft plan.
