----------- <br /> Water Supply Restrictions <br /> (1) Restricted hours for sprinkling. Lawn and.,garden watering is prohibited between the hours of <br /> 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. every year from May I through September I for all addresses on all <br /> days. This section shall apply only to those residents and water source is connected to the city <br /> water system. Use of private wells is exempt from this section. <br /> (a) New lawn sod and/or lawn seed is exempt for two weeks after installation; residents may <br /> water both odd and even days with no watering from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. <br /> (b) Residents whose address ends in an even number may water their lawns and gardens <br /> before 10:00 a.m. and after 6:00 p.m. only on even-numbered days, and residents whose <br /> address ends in an odd number may water their lawns and gardens before 10:00 a.m. and <br /> after 6:00 p.m. only on odd-numbered days. <br /> (2) Water Supply Emergencies. In the event of emergencies affecting the City's ability to supply <br /> water as identified in the City "Water Emergency and Conservation Plan,"the City <br /> Administrator is authorized to implement water use restrictions and demand reduction measures <br /> as identified in such Plan. <br /> (G)Privatefire hose connections. Owners of structures with self-contained fire protection systems may <br /> apply for and obtain permission to connect the street mains with hydrants, large pipes, and hose <br /> couplings, for use in case of fire only, at their own installation expense and at such rates as the Council <br /> may adopt by resolution as herein provided. <br /> (H)Opening hydrants. It is unlawful for any person, other than members of the Fire Department or other <br /> person duly authorized by the city, in pursuance of lawful purpose, to open any fire hydrant or attempt to <br /> draw water from the same or in any manner interfere therewith. It is also unlawful for any person so <br /> authorized to deliver or suffer to be delivered to any other person any hydrant key or wrench, except for <br /> the purposes strictly pertaining to their lawful use. <br /> (1) Temporary connection to fire hydrants. A temporary connection to a fire hydrant may be made subject <br /> to a permit issued by the city. The permit shall indicate the hydrant to be used and none other. The <br /> applicant shall pay a deposit to guarantee payment for the water used and for damage to the meter and <br /> hydrant,which shall be refunded upon expiration of the permit, less charges for water used and the cost <br /> of repair of damages, if any. The user shall relinquish the hydrant in case of emergency upon demand of <br /> the city. The user shall pay a rental charge as set by City Council resolution for each day including <br /> Sundays and legal holidays, and a fee as set by City Council resolution for each 1,000 gallons of water <br /> used. <br /> (J) Unmetered service. Unmetered service may be provided for construction, flooding skating rinks and <br /> any other purpose. The service shall be at a duly adopted rate. Where it is difficult or impossible to <br /> accurately measure the amount of water taken,unmetered service may be provided and the unmetered <br /> rate applied; provided,however, that by acceptance thereof the consumer agrees to have the city <br /> estimate the water used. In so estimating, the city shall consider the use to which the water is put and <br /> the length of time of unmetered service. <br /> 38 1 P a ge <br /> 104 <br />
