City of Centerville <br /> Council Meeting Minutes <br /> September 12,2018 <br /> 2. Centennial Fire District Budget <br /> Administrator Statz stated that the Fire Steering Committee voted in favor of the submitted <br /> budget and they are looking for individual City approval also. <br /> Discussion ensued regarding if a member city were not to approve the budget. Legal Counsel <br /> stated that arbitration would take place at that point. <br /> Motion by Council Member Love, seconded by Council Member King to Approve the <br /> Centennial Fire District 2019 Budget as presented. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> 3. Centennial Lakes Police Department Budget <br /> Administrator Statz stated that the Governing Board voted in favor of the submitted budget and <br /> they are looking for individual City approval also. <br /> Motion by Council Member Montain, seconded by Council Member Love to Approve the <br /> Centennial Lakes Police Department 2019 Budget as presented. All in favor. Motion <br /> carried. <br /> 4. Acorn Creek Park—Proposed Parking Lot and Trail Connection <br /> Administrator Statz stated that he had sketched five (5) parking spaces with one (1) handicapped <br /> accessible parking space on an aerial photo along with a trail anticipating that with the proposed <br /> development of 35 new homes just north of the park it would be a suitable time to cooperatively <br /> work with the developer's contractor's for these services. He stated that the P & R Committee <br /> recommended 10 parking spaces with one (1) handicapped accessible parking space along with <br /> the trail extension. <br /> Administrator Statz felt that an estimate of$22,000 would cover the work but the cost could be <br /> negotiated within the Developer's Agreement. He also stated that park dedication fees would <br /> cover the expenditure. Lengthy discussion ensued regarding the amount of parking spaces, use <br /> of the park, similar parking at other parks and parking on the roadway allowing the City to save <br /> funding. <br /> Motion by Mayor Paar, seconded by Council Member Love to Authorize the Construction <br /> of a Total of (11) Eleven Parking Spaces at Acorn Creek Park Along with a Trail to Old <br /> Mill Road Estates and Connecting to the Existing Trail on the South Side of Revior Street. <br /> Council Member King questioned whether this construction would take place even if the <br /> proposed development did not receive final plat. <br /> Mayor Paar made a friendly amendment with the inclusion of. in conjunction with the Old Mill <br /> Road Estates Final Plat. Council Member Love accepted the friendly amendment to the motion. <br /> Council Member Montain opposed. Motion carried. <br /> Page 6 of 8 <br />
