City <br /> Attorney Glaser stated that there is a three(3) year look back period and there have been no other <br /> violations. <br /> Motion by Mayor Paar, seconded by Council Member Love to Table Consent Agenda Item <br /> #1 b., i. and ii. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> VIII. OLD BUSINESS <br /> 1. None. <br /> IX. NEW BUSINESS <br /> 1. Canvassing Election Results <br /> Administrator Statz stated that contained in Council's packet is an abstract of election results <br /> compiled by Anoka County and election judges. He stated that the City staff processed <br /> approximately 325 absentee/early voters prior to election-day and approximately another 1,233 <br /> on election day. He stated that he had not received any complaints and was aware that the entire <br /> County was down for the first 10 minutes and a ballot was jammed in the machine at one point. <br /> He stated that there are emergency procedures that were followed during both of these situations. <br /> Mayor Paar thanked registered voters and new voters for exercising their right to vote, along <br /> with Election Judges and Staff. He congratulated Council Member Love and Ms. Michelle <br /> Lakso on their successful campaigns and also desired to thank Mr. Greg Nohner for filing for <br /> office and running a professional campaign. Council Member Love congratulated Mayor Paar <br /> on his successful campaign also. <br /> Motion by Council Member Montain, seconded by Council Member Koski to Approve the <br /> Abstract of Election Results for 2018 City of Centerville as Presented. All in favor. Motion <br /> carried. <br /> 2. Ord. #XX, Second Series —2018 Fee Schedule(First Reading) <br /> Administrator Statz stated that the Water Lateral Fee is in lieu of the special assessment for <br /> project that contained watermain, similar to Peltier Lake Drive, Mound Trail and Clearwater <br /> Drive. The watermain was installed and residents did not want to connect and agreed that at the <br /> time of connection they would then pay this fee. He stated that some projects are from 1998 <br /> with those costs bore by the City remaining unpaid by the property owner due to lack of <br /> connection. He stated that City Code contained language that many of these residents were <br /> required to connect to municipal services by December 31, 2017. Many of them did not connect <br /> and Council authorized Ordinance 491, Second Series in September. He stated that at that time <br /> Council also discussed the fact that the $6,500 Water Lateral Fee had not kept up with the <br /> Consumer Price Index or Construction Cost Index. He stated that he completed an analysis <br /> previously and felt that the fee should be $8,000.
