General Fund Expenditures <br /> Salaries& Benefits -+$36,900 <br /> Total Salaries and Benefits are up in the General Fund because of three primary factors. <br /> The first is new employees: <br /> Finance Director- 0.5 Full-Time Equivalent <br /> Receptionist- 0.6 Full-Time Equivalent <br /> This salary increase is mitigated by reductions based on the difference between the higher <br /> salaries and benefits of the previous City Administrator and Public Works employees <br /> compared to their replacements. <br /> Elections—($6,900) <br /> There will not be an election held in 2019. <br /> Planning and Zoning— ($8,000) <br /> Professional services will be reduced in 2019 since the Comprehensive Plan update was <br /> completed in 2018. <br /> Engineering— ($8,000) <br /> Professional services will be reduced in 2019 since the City Administrator can perform <br /> some of the functions that were previously contracted with an engineering firm. <br /> Police Protection—($7,573) <br /> This reduction is due to changes in the Centennial Lakes Police budget and in the formula <br /> which determines the allocation between the member cities. <br /> Fire Protection—($110,800) <br /> This reduction in the aid transfer to the Fire Relief Association is based on the aid <br /> reduction from the State of Minnesota. <br /> Public Works— $35,600 <br /> The Professional Services budget has been increased by the amount that was initially set <br /> aside for a new public works employee ($31,600), savings on lawn mowing through a <br /> new contract($6,000), and a reduction in general consulting ($2,000) due to the City <br /> Administrator taking on some of the professional services. <br /> Park Engineering Fees <br /> $5,000 is budgeted here for assistance in creating a comprehensive park plan to determine <br /> an appropriate park dedication fees anticipated on land remaining to be platted. <br /> EDA- +$21,800 <br /> The committee has been established with per diem for members of$1,800 and a $20,000 <br /> operating budget. <br /> 49 <br />
