City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />May 10, 2006 <br /> City Engineer Statz indicated the inspector was informed but thought this was a non-issue <br />as he was not aware that this was considered a bridge and they have now had a bridge <br />inspector go in and look at this and determined there is no structural issue with the repair. <br />He then said that Bonestroo has offered to supplement the County by doing inspections <br />on the off years for the next six years to make sure that it is not structurally compromised <br />and that will be done at no charge to the City. <br /> <br /> 13. Parks and Recreation Committee’s Recommendation to Purchase 20 Tons of <br />Cocoa Brown Shredded Rubber for the Fall Zone at Laurie LaMotte Memorial <br />Park – Not to Exceed $14,143.20 <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Lee, seconded by Council Member Paar, to approve the <br />purchase of 20 Tons of Cocoa Brown Shredded Rubber for the Fall Zone at Laurie <br />LaMotte Memorial Park – Not to Exceed $14,143.20. All in favor. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />VIII. OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br /> None. <br /> <br />IX. ANNOUNCEMENTS/UPDATES <br /> <br /> <br />1.City Administrator, Mr. Dallas Larson <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson reported that the CSAH 14 project needs discussion on the <br />issue of replacing the force main between the two lakes. He then said that the thought <br />was to replace the force main that was put in during the 1970s and Staff is concerned that <br />the County construction could compromise the pipe. <br /> <br />City Engineer Statz provided an update on the CSAH 14 project and the Engineer’s <br />portions of the project. He then outlined the options regarding the pipe for Council <br />consideration. <br /> <br />City Engineer Statz indicated that the directional drilling would be done in the boulevard <br />not in the roadway. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra indicated that she is concerned with the road construction and whether the <br />whole system will be compromised. <br /> <br />Council Member Terway said he would rather spend the money now as costs will be <br />higher in the future. <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson indicated the County is expecting that the City will replace it <br />but Staff has been looking into whether it is time to replace it. <br /> <br />Council asked for time to consider the information. <br />Page 8 of 10 <br />
