PARKS AND RECREATION COMMITTEE <br /> Wednesday, February 7, 2018 —6:30 p.m. <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Parks & Recreation Committee of the City of <br /> Centerville held a scheduled meeting on February 7, 2018 at the City Hall location. <br /> Present: Chairperson Kevin Waeghe <br /> Committee Member Kevin Amundsen 0 <br /> Committee Member Brian Peterson <br /> Committee Member Suzanne Seeley <br /> Also Present: Matt Montain, Council Member Liaison V <br /> Mark Statz, City Administrator <br /> Absent: Committee Member Chris Bettinger <br /> Committee Member Heidi Grahek <br /> Public Works, Paul Palzer <br /> 1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> Chairperson Waeghe called the February 7, 2018 Meeting of the Parks & Recreation <br /> Committee to order at 6:33 p.m. in the City Council Chambers. <br /> Roll Call—see above <br /> IL SET/APPROVE AGENDA <br /> Motion by Committee Member Amundsen, seconded by Committee Member Seeley <br /> to amend this agenda by adding: VI. NewBusiness #3 Waterworks Development <br /> Proposal. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> III. APPEARANCES/APPOINTMENTS/PRESENTATIONS <br /> Ms. Corinne (Cory) Sendle, the Centennial Schools Community Education Director <br /> spoke to the committee regarding joint promotion of Centennial Community Education <br /> Programs and City/Park and Rec Programs/Activities. This could be done by promoting <br /> community education and activities through the Centennial Schools by <br /> **a monetary &/or use of facilities subsidy of community education programs, <br /> **use of park kiosk(s) for community education promotions and <br /> ** use of city facilities for community education programs. <br /> Some ideas presented were a supervised playground program for a couple of hours a day, <br /> a couple of days per week, staff subsidized utilizing one of the Centerville parks; <br /> subsidizing a skate park program; sand Volleyball and Pickleball courts/leagues, <br /> gardening areas, among others. There is also an option for a 2 day Skateboard Camp. <br />
