P~(651) 429-8629 <br /> <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />COUNTY OF ANOKA <br />CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #06-031 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE AUTO MARK IN ALL PRECINCTS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Federal government passed the Help America Vote Act in 2002 that <br />requires the voting method in every polling place to include a voting system that is <br />accessible for individuals with disabilities in a manner that provides the same opportunity <br />for access and participation and to vote privately and independently; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, one voting system, the ES&S Automark has been identified and certified by <br />the Minnesota Secretary of State's office to meet the requirements of the Help America <br />V ote Act. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the ES&S Automark will be used in addition to the existing optical scan <br />voting system <br /> <br />WHEREAS, federal grant funds were available to cover the capital purchase of the <br />Auto~k and will not require additional funds in 2006. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of <br />Centerville hereby authorizes the use of the ES&S Automark in each polling place for <br />elections held after this date. <br /> <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council this 14th day of June, 2006. <br /> <br />/ .Attest~ ~ <br />C ..
