City Code does not require <br /> action from the commission to accept the resignation, but it would be customary to take action to accept the <br /> resignation and declare the seat open. The commission could accept applications and conduct interviews, if <br /> more than one candidate comes forward. Then, the commission should make a recommendation to the City <br /> Council for appointment.
