I have worked closely with Mayor Paar back to when he was first sworn in as a city council member in 2003. 1 have watched him grow and develop as community leader during his tenure as a city councilman and now as mayor. He goes above and beyond and is actively involved in a host of activities and efforts beyond his role as mayor. Mayor Paar recognizes that serving citizens in the most effective manner requires building relationships and working collaboratively with others. Under his leadership the city has partnered with Anoka and Washington Counties and the neighboring cities of Hugo, Lino Lakes, Forest Lake and Columbus in an economic development effort focused attracting high tech businesses to the region. When a new business comes to town, you can find the Mayor there extending a warm welcome to the leadership and employees of the company that chose to call Centerville home. Mayor Paar is actively involved in serving the broader community and understands the investment of time in our youth is well spent. He has served as an assistant coach for the Centennial Youth Hockey Association, and as a coach and as Vice President for the Centennial Youth Lacrosse Association. Mayor Paar recognizes that strong schools are a key element to successful communities and that communication between cities and school districts are important. He has been an active member of the strategic planning committee for Centennial ISD 12 helping to guide and shape priorities for the District moving forward. Under Mayor Paar's leadership, the City of Centerville has recognized the important contribution our veterans and their families have made and continue to make in the community.
