FEASIBILITY STUDY 1.0EXECUTIVE SUMMARY The following is a summary of the findings of this report. 1.1RECOMMENDED IMPROVEMENTS The streets identified in the proposed project area of downtown Centerville are in poor condition and are overdue for repair. This project was first identified in the 2003 Pavement Management Plan. Recently, the City of Centerville was awarded Anoka County Community Development Block Grant funds to connect existing downtown properties to municipal water service. Consequently, if the City of Centerville wishes to invest in improvements to this area, now is an ideal time due to the available funding for extending water service to the area. It is the recommendation of this report to complete these roadway and water main improvements concurrently and utilize the available grant funding. In addition, the existing storm sewer system will be replaced and expanded as necessary to improve drainage conditions. The existing conditions of the sanitary sewer system in the project area have recently been evaluated through the examination of the City’s regularly scheduled sewer televising program. Based on that review, no sanitary sewer improvements are proposed with this project.
