9/11/2019 <br />Administration/Engineering <br />V.1 <br />Public Hearing - Downtown Street and Utility Improvements <br />Because the city is contemplating special assessments to benefiting properties for the proposed street and utility <br />improvements, there are two public hearings required. Tonight's public hearing is the first of those two and is <br />known as the Improvement Hearing. The purpose of the hearing is to take input from the public on the need for <br />and scope of the proposed improvements. While the primary purpose of the hearing is not to discuss <br />assessments, a reasonable estimate of costs to be assessed must be made available at the meeting. Staff <br />encourages Council to take input on assessment methodology, overall % of costs assessed and other general <br />items related to assessments.
