City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />October 23, 2019 <br /> <br /> <br />Council Member Koski questioned neighbors’ comments and also questioned the length of time a <br />band could play. Attorney Glaser stated that they had to follow City Code regarding noise. <br />Council Member Montain felt that if issue arose an annual renewal was needed and they issues <br />would be addressed at that time. Mayor Paar stated that he felt that there have been minimal police <br />incidents at this location and City Attorney Glaser stated that dependent upon incidents that occur <br />the City could deny the renewal at a later date. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Love, seconded by Council Member Montain to Approve the <br />Request of JV Summit Corp., dba Southern Rail for a 2 AM Liquor License as Presented. <br />All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />X. COUNCIL/ADMINISTRATOR ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> <br />1. Administrator’s Report <br /> <br />Administrator Statz stated that his report was forwarded to Council via email and that he <br />would be happy to address any questions or concerns. He added that he recently spoke with <br />Trident Development and believe that they have the framework of a purchase to construction <br />the 3-story, 53 unit apartment building on the Block 7 property. He stated that the next step <br />would be to draft a purchase agreement or entitlement agreement. He reported that this <br />would incur costs and he desired to obtain Council’s vision prior to doing so. He stated that <br />staff supported the project and hoped that Council would also. <br /> <br />Council Reports <br />a. Lakso – No report(s) given due to absence. <br /> <br />i. Parks and Recreation Committee <br />ii. Economic Development Authority <br />iii. Fire Steering Committee <br /> <br />b. Love – He congratulated both the Girls and Boys Soccer teams for making it <br />into the State Tournaments and wished the Centennial Football team good luck <br />in their tournament as well. He also wished all teams good luck in their winter <br />sports. <br /> <br />i. Police Governing Board – Council Member Love stated that the <br />meeting would be held on November 18, 2019. <br />ii. Economic Development Authority – Council Member Love stated that <br />the EDA held a Special Meeting prior to the Council meeting this <br />evening to consider approving a grant for the Southern Rail to <br />reconstruct a garage on the property with some aesthetic requirements <br />of the Downtown Plan. He stated that they are the first to receive a grant <br />with the new program. He also stated that he appreciated staff’s <br />organization of the EDA Open House and providing avenues of assist <br />to local businesses.Congrats girls soccer and boy soccer and football <br />team good luck <br />Page 6 of 8 <br /> <br /> <br />
