Strategic Plan At their October meeting, the EDA began discussing their strategic plan for 2020. The group intends to present this plan to the City Council in January in an effort to better communicate their goals and objectives. Minnesota Technology Corridor Bruce Sayler from Connexus Energy and Jacquel Hajder from Anoka County Regional Economic Development are setting up meetings with United Properties to further discuss the marketing of the 60 acres of property on Fa Minnesota Technology Corridor. We have also reached out to Atomic Data; a local company, offering colocation data centers, hoping they may be interested in discussing our MN Tech Corridor initiative. Anoka County Regional Economic Development (ACRED) Upcoming Events: November 21st 7:30-9:00 AM COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT Comprehensive Plan Staff and consultants have now resubmitted the sewer portion of the comprehensive plan ff for informal review. Once we get their approval, we will resubmit all remaining items, through the formal process. Downtown Zoning Changes A few months ago, the P&Z Commission recommended approval of some changes to the downtown zoning districts (M1, M2). The City Council, then approved these changes. However, prior to publishing, staff noticed some issues with the language. Since the ordinances had not been published, they had not become official, so simple revisions could be made without going back through the public hearing process. Staff is presenting those changes to the City Council at their next meeting. The changes make sure that accessory structures in the downtown follow the same guidance as other places in the code. The revised staff memo and language are attached to this packet. Midwest Best Water Paving is now complete. They will be finishing up both exterior work (masonry at entries, irrigation & landscaping) and interior finishes (carpeting, cleaning etc.) next week. 5
