CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />Verville <br />Agenda Item # <br />Department: <br />Requested Council Meeting Date: <br />IX.l <br />Administration <br />January 22, 2020 <br />TITLE OF ISSUE: <br />Resolution 420-OXX Authorizing Application for DEED Redevelopment Grant Program <br />BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: <br />The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) has a grant program for <br />redevelopment projects to assist with infrastructure and soil correction costs (among other things). Staff would <br />like to apply for assistance with these two areas of cost associated with the redevelopment of Block 7 and the <br />greater downtown area. Costs included in the application would be those for improvements to Sorel Street and <br />soil corrections (or alternative foundation systems) needed for the Block 7 redevelopment. <br />COST AND SOURCE(S) OF FUNDING: <br />No cost.
