Atlas Villas Memory Care Policies and Procedures <br />SECTION <br />POLICY <br />EFFECTIVE/REVISED <br />2. General Policies <br />2.05 Fall Protocol <br />DATE: 10/30/2019 <br />POLICY: To direct staff in the event of a fall. <br />PROCEDURE: Staff is to proceed as follows - <br />1. Immediately assess resident and determine if the situation is life threatening. <br />2. If situation appears to be life threatening, call 911. If the situation is not life threatening, <br />contact on -call nurse to make an assessment. <br />3. If nurse determines that the fall was caused by an underlying medical condition which <br />requires immediate attention, call 911. If the nurse determines that the fall was not caused <br />by an underlying medical condition, determine if the patient can be lifted by on -site staff. <br />4. If resident cannot be lifted by on -site staff, contact on -call staff for assistance. <br />5.
